  • Enhancement: Xcode 27.1 RC and the iPhone Duo simulator on the macOS 26 runners. warp-macos-26-arm64-6x and warp-macos-26-arm64-12x now ship the Xcode 27.1 release candidate. Learn more.
    • Xcode 27.1 RC (build 27A9275) is at /Applications/Xcode_27.1_Beta.app, with its Metal toolchain and the iOS 27.1 simulator runtime (24A94232), which includes the iPhone Duo simulator.
    • Only the iOS 27.1 runtime is added; there are no tvOS, watchOS or visionOS 27.1 runtimes.
    • Xcode 27.0 (27A266a) stays at /Applications/Xcode_27.0.app, XCODE_27_DEVELOPER_DIR still points at it, and the default Xcode is unchanged at 26.6.
    • If you select Xcode with maxim-lobanov/setup-xcode and latest-stable, it now picks the Xcode 27.1 RC, because Apple marks the release candidate as a GM build; set xcode-version: '27.0' to stay on Xcode 27.0.
    • When Xcode 27.1 is released, it will move to /Applications/Xcode_27.1.app and /Applications/Xcode_27.1_Beta.app will point at it, as with Xcode 27.0.
  • Enhancement: macOS 26 image has been updated. The image now carries the tooling of the upstream GitHub macOS 26 image as of October 11, 2026. OpenSSL 4 is installed alongside OpenSSL 3 at $(brew --prefix openssl@4)/bin/openssl, and the default openssl is still OpenSSL 3, as on the upstream image. The macOS version is unchanged at 26.6.2 (25G83).

  • Enhancement: Axiom is now a built-in export provider. Choose Axiom under Observability settings, then enter an Axiom API token and a dataset for metrics and one for logs. Learn more.
  • Enhancement: Exported telemetry now identifies the workflow, run and job. Metrics and logs exported from Linux runners carry cicd.pipeline.name, cicd.pipeline.run.id, cicd.pipeline.task.name and cicd.pipeline.task.run.id, and service.instance.id identifies the runner. The job fields are labels on every metric data point, so backends that index labels, such as Grafana Cloud, can filter and group by them. Learn more.
